neo-angin throat lozenges

neo-angin forte / forte orange throat lozenges

What is neo-angin and when is it used?

neo-angin throat lozenges contain an active ingredient combination of cetylpyridine and lidocaine.

While cetylpyridine is responsible for the germicidal effect of the throat pastille, lidocaine relieves pain in the mucous membranes of the oral cavity, throat and larynx.

neo-angin is used to support inflammation in the oral and / or pharynx and larynx, as well as for the symptomatic treatment of pain when swallowing and hoarseness.

After dental or surgical interventions, neo-angin can also be taken on medical prescription.

When should neo-angin not be used?

In patients with a known hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients or to other local anesthetics (local anesthetics).

In patients who are hypersensitive to azo dyes, acetylsalicylic acid and rheumatism and pain relievers (prostaglandin inhibitors).

When should caution be advised when taking neo-angin?

In the case of bleeding wounds in the mucous membrane, the throat pastille should be taken with caution - if at all - as the absorption of the active ingredients into the blood may be increased. This is especially true in patients with cardiovascular disorders or a tendency to cramp.

With impaired liver and / or kidney function, as these restrictions can lead to increased drug concentrations in the blood.

Neo-angin forte is not recommended for children under 12 years of age.

Neo-angin and neo-angin junior are not recommended for children under 6 years of age.

If you have a high fever or if there is no improvement within 3 days, a doctor should be consulted.

Inform your doctor, pharmacist or druggist if you suffer from other illnesses, have allergies or are taking or applying other medicines (including those you have bought yourself!)!

Can neo-angin be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding?

Based on previous experience, there is no known risk for the child if used as intended. Systematic scientific investigations were never carried out. As a precaution, you should avoid drugs during pregnancy and breastfeeding if possible, or ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice.

How do you use neo-angin?

neo-angin junior: Children from 6 years of age let a throat lozenge slowly dissolve in their mouth every 1 to 2 hours.

What side effects can neo-angin have?

The following side effects can occur when taking neo-angin:

Excessive or prolonged use of neo-angin can cause local irritation. In the case of fresh injuries in the mouth, there is a risk of bleeding.

Rarely, there may be a change in taste or a numb feeling of the tongue.
