Quick Start Guide: Finding Disk Space Using Disk Utility

  1. Open that Disk utility. The fastest way to do this is via the Spotlight search.
  2. On the left side you can now see the Select hard driveyou need storage information about. You will then be shown how much space is already used on the hard disk.

Quick guide: Find space with "About This Mac"

  1. In the top left, click Apple icon and go to "About this Mac".
  2. If you go to the tab "Hard drives", the used and still available space on your hard drives is displayed in bar graphs.
  3. If you need more information about your hard drive, click on the tab "Overview"and there on"System report".
  4. Then click in the left column in the category "hardware" on "hard disk". Your hard drives will then be displayed along with their storage space usage.
