3 Also this year with specially redesigned outfits. TOP FAIR is being distributed throughout the e xhibition grounds with the help of numerous hosts and hostesses. Once again they are wearing new outfits - especially designed for this year. POTTERY Pottery s trendy handmade look has a very special charm, which reflects the longing for authentic, natural things. Each item is unique, as the decoration is applied by hand. Subtle natural shades of color conjure up rustic simplicity. On the other hand vivid colors stimulate creative food presentations. Ambience: 12th 16th February 2016, Hall, Stand C20. The trendy handmade look from POTTERY has its very special charm. He translates the longing for the authentic, the natural. The craftsmanship creates the ceramic look of the porcelain. The restrained natural colors play with the theme of rural simplicity. Whereas the strong colors invite you to be creative. 4 06 07 AMBIENTE Welcome to Ambiente TOP FAIR spoke to Nicolette Naumann, Vice President Ambience / tendence Nicolette Naumann, Vice President Ambiente / Tendence What are the main focuses of Ambiente this year? The potential of Ambiente 2016 is enormous. Around exhibitors from over 150 nations present their products in Frankfurt am Main. They map all consumer goods sectors in terms of breadth and depth. As the organizer, it is our priority to network this offer for the visitors in such a way that orientation is at best intuitive. It is just as important to us to derive global trend currents from the sum of the innovations shown. We do that with a number of special areas. For the trend show, for example, the style office bora.herke.palmisano analyzed international developments in design, art, fashion and architecture and aggregated them into four themed worlds: All four areas show products from Ambiente exhibitors, which visitors look up using a shopping list and can order directly at the event. We also make the offerings tangible with solutions. The special show scores with products that have found a solution to recurring problems in the kitchen and household. With Talents, another special area outlines future trends. A clear focus this season is on Italy. The country of longing for Germans is the partner country of Ambiente in 2016. Italy is the partner country of Ambiente in 2016. What is the overall concept behind the presentation and what actions are planned? The concept is easy to explain: It's about materializing La Dolce Vita in all areas of life, dining, living and giving in Frankfurt. The importance of almost 400 Italian exhibitors is underlined by an impressive partner country appearance. The internationally renowned designer Paola Navone has created a special exhibition in the foyer of the hall for which Italy is also known as an export nation: in the Café Milano Milano, also designed by Navone from Milan, the cuisine on offer is of course a homage to that Mediterranean lifestyle. The partner country presentation in Halle is just as diverse as Italy: in the Rimini café, industrial designer Giulio Iacchetti gets visitors in a holiday mood. In addition to the special exhibition and the designed cafes, the partner country concept includes an extensive calendar of events and a special theme day on the Monday of the trade fair, on which products and companies from the respective partner country are clearly in the focus of visitors. This year, too, the topic of sustainability is of outstanding importance. Will there be additional offers in this segment in 2016? Sustainability is still a difficult term to grasp. Ecological production can be meant just as much as fair trade or social working conditions. In a sense, consumer goods lack the equivalent of an organic food certificate. But that’s what it’s all about. The task of the Ethical Style Guide is to make product-specific properties transparent to visitors and to work out the advantages of sustainable value chains. Its aim is also to support buyers in putting together an individual and sustainable shopping cart. With a clear focus in Hall 10, the newly launched guide helps you navigate among 179 listed manufacturers and provide orientation to a total of six product categories. In its wide range, the Ethical Style Guide promotes discussion of this important consumer issue on the one hand, and awareness that products, some of which are sustainable, also have a positive effect on the overall balance on the other. With optimized production, this can even be achieved for classic industrial goods. C M Y CM MY CY CMY K

5 08 09 AMBIENTE attimo Welcome to Ambiente TOP FAIR spoke to Nicolette Naumann, Vice President A mbiente / tendence What are the focal points of this year s Ambiente? Ambiente 2016 has an enormous potential. Around 4,300 exhibitors from over 150 nations are showing their products in Frankfurt am Main. These products cover the entire consumer-goods sector in terms of depth and breadth. As organizers, our priority is to present everything in such a way that visitors can orientate themselves easily and, ultimately, intuitively. No less important for us is to deduce global trends from the new products on show and this we do at a number of special presentations. For the Trend Show, for example, the trend experts of Stilbüro bora.herke. palmisano have analyzed international developments in the fields of design, art, fashion and architecture and aggregated them into four thematic worlds, each of which makes exclusive use of products from Ambiente exhibitors, which visitors can look up on a shopping list and order at the fair . We also offer additional insights into the product spectrum with solutions, a special exhibition of products that solve recurring problems in the kitchen and household. Another special area, talents, spotlights tomorrow s trends. An important focal point this year is Italy Germany s favorite destination is the Partner Country of Ambiente Nicolette Naumann, Vice President Ambiente / Tendence Italy is this year s Ambiente Partner Country. What is the overall concept behind the presentation and what activities are planned? The concept is easy to explain it reflects La dolce vita in all the areas of life dining, living, giving covered by Ambiente in Frankfurt. The im-portance of almost 400 Italian exhibitors is underscored by an impressive Partner Country presentation by renowned international designer Paola Navone who has created a special exhibition (in Hall) of products for which Italy is also renowned as an export nation. Also the work of the Milan-based designer, her Milano Milano café and the food offered pay homage to the Mediterranean way of life. As multi-faceted as the country itself is the Partner Country presentation in Hall where, at Rimini Rimini café, industrial designer Giulio Iacchetti puts visitors in a holiday mood. In addition to the special exhibition and the designer cafés, the Partner Country concept includes an extensive program of events and a themed day on the Monday of the fair, which is designed to draw visitors particular attention to products and companies from the Partner Country. Once again, the subject of sustainability is of particular importance this year. Will there be any supplementary services in this segment in 2016? Sustainability continues to be a term that is difficult to com-prehend. For example, it can just as well mean fair trade or fair working conditions. To a certain extent, the consumer-goods segment needs an equivalent to bio-food certificates. And this is exactly what we want to do. Thus, the aim of the Ethical Style Guide is to make product-specific qualities transparent to visitors and to illustrate the benefits of sustainable value chains. It is also designed to help buyers put together an individual and ecologically-oriented basket of goods. With a clear emphasis on Hall 10, the new guide helps visitors find their way around the 179 manufacturers listed and the six product categories. On the one hand, the large spectrum covered by the Ethical Style Guide encourages visitors to give greater consideration to this subject, which is of great importance to consumers, and, on the other hand, promotes the awareness that even partially sustainable production can have a positive impact on the overall balance. And, with optimized production, this is even possible for traditional industrial goods. Ambiente booth J 81

14 26 27 Partner Country ITALY / Partner Country ITALY Dolce Vita Partner Country Italy Dolce Vita Partner Country Italy artistic director of Gervasoni, the Italian furniture manufacturer. The range of her creations over the years is truly enormous and includes not only chairs, sofas, tables, beds and countless accessories but also porcelain collections and cutlery for the likes of Reichenbach and Crate & Barrel, not to mention interior designs for restaurants and showrooms. Ambiente and the designer share some history as she has curated and designed a number of special presentations for Messe Frankfurt, including product displays in the extra soft touch (Ambiente, 1997) and extra remix series (Ambiente, 2001) and the design for the Waterbar café (Ambiente, 2005). Italy is Ambiente's fifth partner country after Denmark, France, Japan and the USA. A total of 400 Italian companies from the areas of dining, living and giving will be present at the fair. With Paola Navone, a world-renowned Italian designer has been won as curator, who will be able to present a wide range of Italian products in the foyer of the hall. introduces. The Turin-born designer is a trained architect and developed her own design approaches at an early stage, which stand out from the usual Italian design. Her combinations of Western aesthetics with Asian influences are particularly interesting. In the 80s she founded her own company Mondo together with Guido Cappelini, a counterculture to the then usual Italian design, which relied more on functional aesthetics. In the course of their work, a few years later they both developed internationally acclaimed furniture made of rattan and willow, which brought fresh momentum to the Paola Navone showrooms, which until then had been characterized by cool Italian design. Paola Navone designed for many big names in the Italian furniture scene such as Driade, Knoll, Alessi and Zanotta. Since 1998, Paola Navone has also been the artistic director of the Italian furniture manufacturer Gervasoni. The range of her work over the years is enormous, in addition to armchairs, sofas, tables, beds and numerous accessories, this also includes the design of porcelain collections and tableware, for example for the Reichenbach porcelain factory and the Crate & Barrel company, or the design of restaurant furnishings and showrooms . The designer also shares a shared past with Ambiente; she has already curated and designed several special presentations for Messe Frankfurt, including the product staging from the extra soft touch series (Ambiente, 1997), extra remix (Ambiente, 2001) and the design of the Café Waterbar (Ambiente, 2005). The special presentation Italy For the special presentation of the partner country Italy, Navone designed an interesting mix of tradition and modernity, kitsch and class, elegance and opulence. As part of the show, of course, the products for which Italy is known as an export nation are shown: dishes, glasses, tableware, pots, pans and all kinds of kitchen utensils. The special presentation is composed in the Italian national colors (green, white and red) and it is understood as a homage to the Mediterranean way of life. Relaxing in Italian style But it is not only the special exhibition that brings a touch of Italy to the ambience; the Café Milano Milano in the hall, designed by Paola Navone, also invites you to take a short break in Italian style. The other partner country presentations are just as diverse as Italy: The industrial designer Giulio Iacchetti would like to bring visitors to his Rimini Rimini cafe in the hall into the special atmosphere of a typical Italian holiday town. Visitors can relax a little in the bathing atmosphere of the 1920s in the typical deck chairs. The partner country presentation invites visitors to visit the foyer of the hall on all days of the fair from February 12 to 16. Italy follows Denmark, France, Japan and the USA as the fifth partner country for Ambiente. A total of 400 Italian companies are exhibiting at the fair in the dining, living and giving areas. Ambiente are delighted to have secured the services of Paola Navone as the curator. This world famous designer will be presenting a wide range of Italian products in the foyer of Hall. A native of Turin, she studied architecture and early in her career developed her own design principles which differed from the usual Italian approach. Her combinations of Western aesthetics and Asian influences are particularly interesting. In the 1980s this was effectively a counterculture to classic Italian design, which tended to be based on aesthetic functionality. In 1988 she founded her own company, Mondo, together with Guido Cappelini. Only a few years later they developed a range of rattan and willow furniture which met with international approval and which brought a breath of fresh air into showrooms which up to then were characterized by cool Italian design. Paola Navone has designed for many of the big names in Italian furniture, such as Driade, Knoll, Alessi and Zanotta. Since 1998 she has been the Italy the special presentation For the special partner Country Italy presentation she has created an interesting mix of the traditional and the modern, kitsch and class, elegance and opulence. The show naturally features the products for which Italy is famous as an exporting country, notably cutlery, glassware, table accessories, pots, pans and all kinds of kitchen utensils. The color scheme for the special presentation is patriotic green, white and red and is a homage to the Mediterranean dolce vita. You can take a short break in Italian style at the Milano café which is located in Hall and which was also designed by Paola Navone. The partner country presentations are as varied as Italy itself.
