(E) When I planned my trip in October, 2013, I had always Cuba as the last stop in my mind. But plans change. Now it will be Panama. In the travel agency they gave me two options. I could travel the distance from Colombia to Panama by plane or by sailboat. However, they did not recommend to sail, as there are maybe pirates in this area. Pirates, that sounded to me always like adventure. At this time I could not assess whether it is really dangerous or not. I wanted to decide on the spot, with all the experiences that I have made on my journey. Now, the time has come. I want to sail. For five days long. I have met many people who have done this trip. None of them has encountered pirates. It seems to be all just a scaremongering. Maybe not. No idea. We'll see. It would also be a cool death, if I get rammed a machete into my heart during a fight with a pirate. After all, better than dying in a meeting with a heart attack.

(G) The finale - the most dangerous part of my journey

When I planned my trip in October 2013, I always had Cuba as the last stop in my head. But plans change. Now it will be Panama. In the travel agency you said at the time that I could cover the distance from Colombia to Panama by plane or by sailing boat. At that time they advised me against sailing because there are supposedly pirates in this area. Pirates, that always sounded like adventure to me. At the time I couldn't tell whether it was really dangerous. I wanted to decide on the spot, with all the experiences I had on my trip. Now the time has come. I will sail. For five days. I've met many who have already made this trip. None of them met pirates. So it all seems like scare tactics. Maybe not. No idea. We will see. Plus, it would be a cool death if I got a machete rammed into my heart while fighting a pirate. Better than dying of a heart attack in a meeting, after all.

"Oh how nice is Panama". I look forward to it!

(E) I am currently in Cartagena. It's a wonderful town. The city was recently ranked as the most beautiful city in South America. I love Colombia. People enjoy life different compared to Germany. It just all fits together: the weather, colonial architecture, salsa music and damn good mochitos.

I am staying here in a hostel and share my room with five other Munich guys. They are all in the mid twenties and try just all available drugs. Medellin is the actual the drug capital of Colombia, but here in the streets of Cartagena you can also get all kinds of drugs: cocaine, MDMA, LSD and marijuana. How it looks when you take all at once and wash it down with a huge amount of alcohol, my roommate is demonstrating today.

This is something I had never seen before. He just wants to sleep, but he can not. The mix keeps him awake. Meanwhile it is 2.30 pm and he still walks with his large pupils through the hostel like a zombie. I want to help him, but I can't.

Colombia is a country where you can get into a drug swamp very quickly. Almost everyone I've met here has already tried something. Above all, of course cocaine. One gram here costs as much as a 30cm sandwich at Subways. In addition, they produce it here, so it has a correspondingly pure quality.

I will now have a look for my Munich roommate, I don’t want him to be hit by a car when he is walking through the streets.

(G) A drug cocktail - Cartagena, Colombia

I am currently in Cartagena. It's a beautiful city. It was recently named the most beautiful city in South America. I love colombia. The people here are bursting with joie de vivre. Everything just fits together: the weather, colonial architecture, salsa music and damn good mochitos.

I'm staying in a hostel here and share my room with five other Munich residents. They are all in their twenties and have tried pretty much all of the drugs available. Medellin is the actual drug capital of Colombia, but here in Cartagena pretty much everything is offered on the streets: cocaine, MDMA, LSD and marijuana. One of my roommates is demonstrating what it looks like if you throw everything in at once and wash it down with a large amount of alcohol.

I had never seen anything like it before. He just wants to sleep, but he can't. The mix keeps him awake. It is now 2.30 p.m. and he is still wandering around the hostel with his large pupils. I want to help him, but I can't.

Colombia is a country where you can get into a drug swamp very quickly. Almost everyone I've met here has tried something. First and foremost, of course, cocaine. One gram costs as much as a 30cm sandwich on a subway. In addition, it is of course of pure quality here at the source.

I'm going to take a look at my man from Munich now, not that he will be run over by a car if he wanders through the streets here.

Two weeks ago I did a survey about a new logo for this blog and my Youtube Channel. We have a winner. You voted with 68% to 32% for the “Man on the World”. Thanks everybody for the effort and your votes!
