How to lock fields in Word 2007

I don't think you can lock a single table cell.

The usual procedure for creating a form is to add text form fields in the cells that allow entries and then protect the entire document. Then you can only make entries in the text form fields. However, no entries are possible in the rest of the document, except

- you also insert text form fields in these places,
- you work with protected and unprotected areas. But now first try out whether you like the form fields. You can find a quick guide in the appendix.
