I've made a small list here with the various options for controlling 3D printers.
Will always do as well as possible here, if you know other useful things about it, post it, I will then add them.



Selection of the stepper driver:
Basically you can say that the standard stepper driver with up to 32 microsteps can be driven by an 8 microprocessor.
Steppers with more than 32 microsteps, e.g. Silencioso or RAPS128, require a faster processor, e.g. the 32-bit processor of the Arduino Due.
The electrical connection of the stepper driver can vary depending on the version; the pin assignment must be checked before installation / operation and entered in the Arduino FW (PINS.h) if necessary, otherwise the board or the stepper driver can be damaged.
